Stop The Hate & Violence Rally

Trayvon_Martin_Rallies_Lead.jpgIn order to stop the violence in our community it needs to begin somewhere, and it can begin with you. Please come and show your support on Monday July 22, at 1:00PM as we honor the life of Trayvon Martin and speak up for justice in our community. The rally will feature area Pastors, Council members Brenda Davis and Marcus Madison, other elected officials and most importantly the voices of our teens and young adults who have been moved to respond to this travesty of injustice.

Hoodies can be worn by choice but we would like to encourage everyone to wear red, yellow, green or orange shirts as a symbolic visual of skittles. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy, and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity.
