This is pretty shocking news: President Obama will likely be the first president in modern history to get outspent in his re-election campaign.
He'll be outspent if Republican super PACs and shadow groups continue to pour unprecedented amounts of money into defeating him. Consider this fact: The Koch brothers alone are expected to spend $400 million in this election. That's more than John McCain raised for his entire 2008 presidential campaign.
But even without the outside groups, the Romney campaign is raising more than the Obama campaign, with three-quarters of its donations coming from individuals who give $1,000 or more. So chip in a few dollars to join the millions of Americans who have supported President Obama and Democrats and everything we believe in—health care, equal rights, the middle class—with a donation.
